Keep your resume short--1 Page Only

Leave off high school experiences, unless you are a freshman and/or feel they are extremely relevant to the position applied for

No less than 10pt font--make sure that your resume is still readable

Don’t stretch the margins

No periods when using bullet points

Quantify your accomplishments; add numbers to what you did: “Spearheaded a summer moving and storage business with two employees, serving fifty customers and generating $19,000 in profit.”

Use action verbs to lead: “Organized a team of ten students and provided the local Houston community with free services following a natural disaster”

Cater your resume to your industry: Leave off consulting experiences if you’re applying to banking opportunities

Be truthful: You will be asked to explain your experiences listed on your resume in-depth
